UtiliMate Privacy Policy

Updated 7 October 2026 for the forthcoming update

UtiliMate is built to work on your device by default. We do not require an account or sell personal data. You control optional advertising permissions, and declining tracking does not restrict your free tools.

Information used by the tools

Depending on the tool you choose, UtiliMate may process camera images, scanned documents, photos you select, audio recordings and transcriptions, location, motion and sensor readings, device measurements, clipboard content you explicitly use, and files you open or export. This content is used to provide the feature you requested. Core processing is on-device unless an online service is part of the feature. Speech transcription uses Apple’s Speech framework and may send your recording to Apple’s online recognition service. It is not an on-device-only feature; speech permission and service availability apply. Recordings are not included in our usage-analytics events.

Online lookups

Some tools must send a limited request to an external service—for example currency, weather, mapping, web, DNS or certificate information. The request is limited to what is needed for that result. The provider also receives ordinary network information such as your IP address. Do not enter private content into a lookup field unless the feature clearly requires it.

The forthcoming app's currency converter fetches a fixed USD-base ECB reference-rate feed through Frankfurter. Your amount and selected currency pair are not sent to that provider. The rate date is displayed; reference rates are not live transaction quotes. The website's currency calculator continues to use the rate you enter.

Anonymous product analytics

To learn which workflows are useful, the app can send coarse events such as “tool opened”, “paywall viewed” or “purchase completed”, together with a tool name, broad outcome, app version and platform where relevant. We do not include account identifiers, advertising identifiers, device identifiers, search text, files, document content, recordings or precise location in these events. Cloudflare processes the web request and stores only allow-listed dimensions as daily aggregate counters in D1; we do not create a raw per-visit event row or intentionally store the request IP address in that dataset.

You can switch this off at any time under Settings → Share anonymous usage analytics. Turning it off does not affect the app’s tools or purchases. This switch controls our usage-event endpoint, not Apple’s purchase services, RevenueCat where used, Google’s advertising and consent services where used, or a provider contacted by a tool you choose. Those services have the separate controls described below.

Website analytics

This website records anonymous page-view, calculator-use and App Store click events using the same limited event endpoint. Calculator inputs and generated passwords stay in your browser and are not included. We do not use advertising cookies on this website.

Advertising

The free app may show Google Mobile Ads. UtiliMate requests non-personalised ads and disables Google’s optional publisher first-party identifier and SDK crash reporting. Before loading ads, the forthcoming update collects any required regional consent and requests optional Apple tracking permission for advertising measurement if your system choice is not yet determined. You can decline and keep using the free tools with non-personalised ads.

Google may process device identifiers, network information including IP-derived coarse location, ad interactions, performance and diagnostic information to deliver, secure and measure ads under its own terms. The advertising identifier is available only when you grant Apple tracking permission. Where required, change regional choices in Settings → Advertising privacy choices. Apple tracking permission can be changed in your device’s Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. Upgrading to Pro removes ads.

Purchases

Apple processes purchases through StoreKit. On iPhone and iPad, RevenueCat manages products and Pro entitlement status for us, using an anonymous customer identifier, purchase history, entitlement information and paywall-impression events. We use this service for purchase validation, restoring access and purchase-funnel analytics; it is separate from our optional usage-event endpoint. The Mac Catalyst build uses StoreKit directly and does not embed RevenueCat or Google advertising services.

We do not receive or store your full payment-card details. Apple processes its purchase information under its own privacy terms. RevenueCat processes app service information for us; our policy and service arrangements govern that processing. For an app-data access, correction or deletion request, contact us at hello@fairlightapps.com. An anonymous customer identifier does not mean that no service data is retained.

Storage and retention

Preferences, favourites, history and tool outputs you save are stored locally or in locations you choose. You can delete saved content inside the relevant tool. Exported files and device or iCloud backups remain under your control. Removing an app does not necessarily remove those files or all service records. The analytics dataset contains daily aggregate counters rather than raw visits. Apple may retain purchase records, and our service providers retain information according to the applicable service arrangements and their legal obligations. Contact us about an app-data request; some purchase records may need to be retained.

Your choices

  • Decline or revoke camera, microphone, photo, location, motion and speech permissions in iOS Settings.
  • Turn anonymous usage analytics off inside UtiliMate Settings.
  • Use Pro to remove ads.
  • Delete locally saved content inside the relevant tool or remove the app.

Children

UtiliMate is a general utility product and is not directed to children under the minimum age required to consent to data processing in their location.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy when the app or its providers change. The effective date above identifies the current version. For privacy or support questions, email hello@fairlightapps.com. Please do not attach sensitive tool content unless it is necessary to resolve your request.
