How it works

Unit price = pack price ÷ total quantity. Grams are converted to kilograms and millilitres to litres before comparison. Percentage difference = (higher unit price − lower unit price) ÷ higher unit price × 100. The comparison uses unrounded values; displayed prices are rounded. A lower unit price does not necessarily mean a cheaper pack or a better product.

Three practical tips

  • Compare equivalent products and include any delivery charge in the pack price if it applies.
  • Enter the total quantity of a multipack, not the size of one item.
  • Buy only what you will use: waste, quality and storage can outweigh a lower unit price.

Can I compare grams with kilograms or millilitres with litres?

Yes. This tool converts g and kg to price per kilogram, and ml and L to price per litre. Item counts must be whole numbers. Weight, volume and item counts cannot be compared with each other; converting weight to volume would require the product’s density.
